One day, when the mayor of the town was coming to dinner, Damura’s stepmother forced her stepdaughter to go to the river to wash the dishes and clothes.  Damura obeyed, but when she was washing her stepmother’s sarong, the current swept it away from her. Feeling sad and devastated, she began to cry.  But then, a huge crocodile appeared, coming to help Damura in return for she taking care of one of its young breedings.
